Lets get tanned with Cocoa Brown 1hr tan Part 2!

So its time for the second part of my post on Cocoa Brown 1hr tan! I have woken up this morning sooooo lovely and brown, which obviously brings a smile to my face! If you didn't see the first part to my post on this fake tan you can read it here.

I mentioned this briefly yesterday in the first part of my post, but the first thing that I love about this product is the pink packaging, it is just so girly and instantly makes me want to get into a pamper session! Everyone loves a bit of pink, right? The next thing that I mentioned was the amazing price of £7.99… You really can't go wrong can you?! Right lets move on to the best bit… discussing my thoughts from applying it right through to washing it off and revealing my Cocoa Brown tan at its best colour!

Please find below a few 'before' pictures… I apologise for the pasty images you are about to see!

As you can see here I was extremely pale and obviously in need of some sunshine which is quite hard with this uk weather at the minute, and so turning to fake tan was a must! So what were my first thoughts upon applying Marissa Carter's Cocoa Brown 1hr tan?

As I mentioned in part one of this post I chose the mousse version which is a 1hour tan. You can wash this off either after 1 hour, 2 hours or 3 for a deeper colour… I chose to leave mine on over night due to being so pale but thats just my personal preference! The first thing you notice about this tan is the actually mousse… boy that stuff comes out fast! I was quite shocked upon trying to apply this tan as I didn't expect the mousse to be so full and fast! You really don't need to press on this bottle hard when trying to get tan out of it as it is literally like a can of squirty cream… it explodes full of mousse! This is a good thing I think though as it obviously means you are using less as it is so full! The tanning mousse is not thick, it is quite lightweight id say which is much better as when it is on I didn't feel sticky or heavy- Im not sure if you have ever felt like that after applying a fake tan but just sometimes after applying some its felt quite mucky- with this it was the complete opposite, I was really pleased!

The next thing I noticed is the smell. How many of you have had experiences with a fake tan where people just constantly moan that you "smell of fake tan", or they see that you now have a bit of colour on you and just assume that any smell nearby is your tan.. hands up, its happened to me! Well no more girls, this is a tan which I can honestly say gives off no oder, and certainly not a stinky fake tan smell! This Cocoa Brown tan claimed on the bottle to have "NO fake tan smell" and it certainly sticks to its word! Really impressed with this. Usually after applying fake tan I can smell it for the duration that it is left on and seen as I leave it on over night I can usually smell it when I'm in bed, but with this I was still able to have a great nights sleep! I also want to point out that it did not transfer on to my sheets which is a bonus!

This tan was so easy to put on because of how durable the mousse is, it literally just glided on with no problem, and NO PATCHES! Yay! So like Ive said above I chose to leave it on over night. Of course during the night I could see it progressing and turning into a nice colour. Here are some photo's of the tan developing over the evening after being applied.

(Please excuse the mark on my onesie, I didn't spill anything its from Vicks which stained it!! It is clean don't worry! :))

So as you can see from above it was already turning into a lovely colour. For £7.99 I was really impressed as its just such good value for your money, and lets face it product prices are rising and things are becoming so much more expensive these days, I struggle to pay for top branded products at the best of the time, but knowing great products like this Cocoa Brown tan are in the high street at affordable prices like this makes me happy!

So I guess you'd like to see the colour once id woken up and showered it off? (Remember on this shower it is important to "NOT use shower gel or exfoliate during this shower" as it states on the bottle to avoid loosing any colour. Here are a few pictures for you!

(sorry about the bag in the background)

As you can see its left me with a lovely colour, and doesn't look like I've become an orangatang! I love it and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in having a lovely subtle tan.

So, what are your thoughts on this tan? Have you tried it? Would you be willing to try this out now seeing some results and hearing my opinion?

Cocoa Brown tan is available to buy following my links or your own online search at their website online or in most high street shops such as Superdrug and Boots (others are available).
Go on, take the plunge… Life's much better with a tan!

Lets get tanned with Cocoa Brown 1hr tan! Part 1!

Hello there! This is my official return to blogging after many months of hiding away.. I'm not going to go into any boring details or give any pledges that I promise to blog every day for the rest of my life, I'm just going to say thanks for sticking around.. & I hope you enjoy my upcoming posts :) This first post is on a product I have recently purchased, and will come in two parts, this being the 1st, the results being the 2nd!

So everyone that knows me knows my love for a good fake tan. I don't like sun beds or agree with them (my personal opinion- & I totally understand people have different views) so I tend to use a fake tan to bronze myself up… Lets face it we all feel a little better with a tan, right?
I've used many different tans in the past which I've loved, ranging from St Tropez, Lauren's Way, St Moriz, etc… but after spotting this recently on the social network that everyone loves: Twitter.. My thoughts grew more curious for this product (product can also be found on Facebook).

Cocoa Brown  by Marissa Carter is new to me, but after following them for a while on Twitter and seeing many happy customers, & also following them on Instagram, I saw something which amazed me! I spotted Millie Mackintosh had popped a photo on her Instagram wearing Cocoa Brown tan, and her before and after pictures were amazing!! I just knew I had to try out this product straight away.
I know Cocoa Brown stock in many high street shops and of course online, but my first port of call was Primark as I had seen that they now stock in in many of the Primark stores. Unfortunately my local Primark don't stock this at the minute, and so I ventured to the next place; Superdrug!

I finally found the tan sitting waiting for my on the shelf in the tanning isle, I was so happy! I chose the 1hr tan which is a mousse as I just prefer mousse tans. First of all I LOVE the packaging, its bright pink… WOW! Pink means one thing- girly!! I was then so shocked at the price. After hearing about this tan I never researched the price as I expected it to be along the normal price range of £10-£20… As I knelt down in Superdrug to pick up my tan and gazed at the price tag I was so shocked: £7.99! You can find the link here for this product online at Superdrug or find it in-store. What a fab price for a tan, and for a 150ml bottle I don't think you can go wrong! So happy I took it straight to the till, paid & headed home. Here I am a few days later ready to try this product out!

So what is Cocoa Brown tan? On the back of the packing it states '… Beautifully bronzed, radiant skin in just 1 hour!' Perfect… a tan for when your in a hurry! You can wash this tan off in just one hour for an instant effect, or 2 hours or 3 for a darker shade of tan. I personally will just leave it on over night but its good that it takes an effect after a short amount of time! Cocoa Brown 1hr tan states that it has 'accelerating ingredients' making for a 'speedy self tan… in a rich cocoa brown colour in just 1 HOUR' One the tan is washed off it claims to 'last between 5 and 7 days'. Also Cocoa Brown claims to have 'NO fake tan smell' as it includes a 'floral Tahitain Gardenia scent'. The tan is 'moisturising and kind enough to be used on both face and body… [and] tan continues to develop after rinsing'.

So today I woke up, did the normal shower prep & got myself ready to try out this tan! I use just a Solait self tanning mitt to apply the tan with, the one I have used today is from Superdrug also & can be brought in-store or online for £3.49. Im not going to mention any details just yet about smell, texture etc as that will be coming in part 2 of this post tomorrow once the tan has developed!

So using my tanning matt I have applied my first ever lot of Cocoa Brown 1hr Tan! So now I plan on relaxing for the rest of the day and await some hopefully amazing results! I shall be posting the 2nd half to this post tomorrow once the tan has set, Please come back to see the results!!

Cocoa Brown  can now be found in many different stores or on-line at shops like Superdrug, Boots, Primark, Cocoa Browns official website, & more.

Don't forget to check back tomorrow to find out my results!! See you soon!

The only way is Lauren's Way x

As promised a while ago, I said i would do another blog commenting on Lauren's Way tan! I went out this weekend for the first time in a while and of course needed to tan, so what perfect timing to use my new tan! I was honestly so amazed when using this product. It glides over the skin so easily, and as i have said before there is no horrible smell to it! Now usually when i have used St Tropez before, i have needed to apply lots to get an even coverage... So with this bad habit in mind i used quite a lot of Lauren's Way tan, and it was so not needed! You get so much colour from such a small amount of tan! It also, like most tans- develops over 4 hours, except Lauren's way also gives an instant effect and i was brown from the moment i applied it! It dry's really quite so it is good for if you are in a hurry!

Once i was out i had so many compliments on the tan, it really does make you look like you have been abroad for 2/3 weeks! The next day i decided to have a bath after having a lot of drinks spilt on me whilst i was out the night before, and usually i hate doing this when i have just put my tan on as it always comes off patchy! Lauren's way does not do this! It all comes off so even, and I am still really tanned now even after bathing! I am really really impressed with this product and i will be buying lots more in the future. I recommend everyone to buy this tan, it is honestly the best out there!
Will you be trying out Lauren's Way tan? xxxxx

Patch test on Lauren's Way tan

So girls, I now have Lauren's Way tan in my life! I have not forgotten to blog about this product... i just haven't had chance to use it yet. This is just a quick blog to let you seen the result of the patch test that i did last night just to see what the colour looks like.

(This was when i first put it on)                                (This is after waking up today)

As you can see from the photo's, i think its a bit more than a 'patch test' as its just a massive rectangle of tan! I only used a tiny bit of the mousse but it is actually amazing how much area it can cover compared to St Tropez where i find i had to use quite a lot in one go just to get an even coverage. There is no smell at all to this tan, which i love as the smell is the worst part of tanning for me, especially when your in bed at night and all you can smell is tan!
You can see the colour instantly when you put it on, and it is just so smooth. Today i have woken up to find the result of the right photo. It is such a lovely bronzed colour; not orange at all! I'm quite excited to use it properly now all over to see how it looks :) Once i get chance i will take photos of the finished look using Lauren's Way tan! Any questions please feel free to comment on the blog!

Tan-go time!

As we know, most of us girls love our skin to have that sun kissed look. Some use sunbed's (which are a no no for me!) and other's prefer to use good old fake tan. Usually I would use St Tropez, which retails at £30. 64 from Boots for a 240ml bottle. You can get a 120ml bottle of St Tropez for £20.43 from Boots but the bottle is really small and so i just buy the big one as it saves money.I use a mitt to apply the tan as it helps the mousse to spread evenly on the skin (Also from boots around about £3). Obviously St. Tropez is expensive for a fake tan, and to be honest i don't think it is worth the money at all. It does have quite a strong smell to it, and often it goes on patchy no matter how much you exfoliate and moisturise.
Since 'Towie' came on to our tv screens, there has been a lot of hype about Lauren Goodger's new tan called Lauren's Way. After reading a lot of reviews that perceived this product to be 'amazing' i decided to put away the St Tropez and buy some. There are two different formulas, the mousse and the lotion. I purchased the mousse as i do think it is easier to apply, and it retails at £17.95, and shipping is £4.50.. totaling to £22.45. The bottle is a 150ml which is bigger and cheaper than the smaller bottle of St Tropez.

I ordered my Lauren's Way tan on the 30/05/2011 and it arrived on the 04/06/2011 which i think is really quick as it has been a bank holiday. It comes packed inside a cardboard box, and inside it has lots of foam pieces protecting the tan. There is also a card from Lauren herself which thanks you for buying the tan. I have not used the tan yet as i haven't been well, but as soon as i am better i shall be using it, and i shall write a new blog with pictures explaining what its like and whether i think it is good or not and worth the money. If anyone is interested in buying this tan for yourself you can purchase it from http://www.laurengoodgerofficial.co.uk/

I look forward to using this product and sharing my views on it with you all!
