OOTD, Nothing to wear...

"I have nothing to wear" is frequently a phrase of mine. No matter how many clothes I own I still never have anything to wear... typical girl! Im loving the slogan tees out at the minute, and theres so many around. Heres one that fits mine and probably a lot of other girls everyday dilemma!

I whipped this outfit together for a casual Saturday out to do more christmas shopping. I love that it is all black, sometimes I think that black is my favourite colour- you just can't go wrong with it! I love the monochrome look of the t-shirt with its white writing which makes it stand out and actually breaks the black up making it easier to get away with!

Keeping it simple: #OOTD

The time has come for all the weekend shopping trips to start getting those christmas presents for our loved ones. When I go shopping I hate wearing anything thick or heavy as I just get to hot, I like to be cool and comfy. Also I don't know if this is just me but when I go shopping I sometimes come home more depressed than when I went as I see other people dressed really nice and I see lots of lovely clothes then look at my own outfit and think what a waste of money, Heres to just a little post wearing something pink for an afternoon of shopping; and of course anything pink is a favourite to me! This is a simple affordable outfit that won't break the bank!

Here I was stuck, I really wanted to wear my knee high tan boots from New Look but then I remembered as I mentioned above how hot I get when I'm shopping, and so I decided to change them to the following for more comfort...

What I love most about this outfit is that it is simple, pink & comfy. I love the jumper and it was an absolute bargain from Primark. It is pink knit at the front and has a white blouse type back which just makes it so different from all the other jumpers I have seen out at the minute which are really thick and heavy. I also really like how it has the collar. Usually I would wear a blouse under my jumper to create this look, but then once again get really hot and end up taking off the jumper. This is perfect as it creates the look without having to wear something underneath. This was £5 in the sale reduced from £12- I just couldn't say no to it, especially as it is pink! 

I decided to pair this with a simple pair of blue jeggins and finally decided to go with my cut out buckled ankle boots for my foot wear. These boots were a bargain too from Select Fashion at just £20! I have seen so many ankle boots on the high street at some shocking prices for what they actually are! I love the gold detailing on the buckle on these!

Lots of people were looking at me like I was mad walking around with no coat, but I just can't do with being hot and bothered when shopping!

So theres my outfit which totals £34... affordable and comfy!

Sunday blues #OOTD

So today is my lovely mums birthday! After an up and down weekend this morning was finally the time to get back on my feet and get ready for the day ahead! After waking up and setting out all mums presents downstairs ready for when she arrived, I had the job of finding something to wear that looked smart but still felt casual as I was about to be top chef today and cook her a birthday meal! Sundays are always strange days, some sundays I don't even want to get out of my pjs unless I really have too! Today felt different, I had something to get up and get myself ready for instead of the usual 'its Sunday I must find something to do' kinda feeling. What outfit did I choose? Before I had to rush out to pick up some food to cook I managed to take a few photos.. Apologies for the poor camera shots!…

Why did I choose this outfit?

I loved wearing this today because it is so so comfy. The jumper is so nice and cosy and now that the winter is creeping around the corner I think it will be great for those cold months. I popped a simple white blouse underneath too add to the design of the jumper as I love to see the collar and cuffs out… This is something inspired from outfits Lucy Watson has worn on Made in Chelsea. Black skinny jeans, an essential to every girls wardrobe! They can be dressed up or down and so are just a vital piece to own. I paired my outfit with the little ankle boots as they too are also so comfy, and I guessed the gold detailing of the buckles would match my fashion necklace :)

After getting dressed I nipped to the shops to gather what I needed then headed home and cooked mum a lovely Sunday roast which was enjoyed by all!

More love for Kimonos!

So recently I fell in love AGAIN! Of course it was with another kimono.. and yes once again it is from Select! I have talked about some kimonos from Select in a few of my recent posts; declaring my love for them.. But once again after a little shopping trip I saw this beauty and just could not resist! 

I love kimonos because you can dress them up or down, and the ones that seem to be coming out now are more kaftan style ready for holidays, so even if I brought kimonos now I could buy them and still know that they would be bang on trend ready for the holiday season. 

Here are some photos of my recent love…

I love the beautiful floral patterns in this kimono- they are such summery colours and can be paired with pinks, whites, blues and even greys! I am especially a girly girl-so I love the pink that is included in it!

This day in particular was a nice sunny day (hence the sandals) … a kimono can turn such a simple outfit into something much more! 

This photo above I actually don't like; just because I feel like I look so broad shouldered (which I am) and I feel like I look 3 sizes bigger than I am! I am a size 10, and this kimono is a size 6… Trust me you do not need your actual clothes size in these- they are huge!! But buying a size 6 does make you happier =) .. Well it did me anyway!

This kimono has tasselling to add to the effect which i absolutely LOVE! It just gives it that ultimate summer feeling! It is made from 100% polyester!

I chose to pair this kimono with blue skinny jeans and a pink vest top- just because it was a comfortable  style for me, but like the quote above this would be perfect with demin shorts or over a bikini… It can create so many different looks!

This was a look I just through together for a quick fix outfit for a last minute trip out!

Kimono over here!

It is always a pain for me whenever I'm getting ready to go out somewhere, be it day or night time- I really struggle when it comes to outfits. Regardless of all the clothes that I own, I absolutely HATE my top half; I have really broad shoulders which stand out a mile, & I think my arms are quite big compared to my legs which look like sticks whenever I see photos of them. Due to me being so self conscious about my arms I always try to cover up the top half of me as much as I can so that I am not bearing all! This does become tricky though as there are only so many 'nice' long sleeved tops out there that are suitable for certain occasions such as going for tea, and obviously at the minute it isn't really cold enough to wear long sleeved cardigans- although sometimes I do if push comes to push.

Just recently I have noticed ALOT of Kimono's in the shops. I personally think these are an absolute life saver. Ive seen them in all different shapes/colours/sizes with different patterns; perfect for day or night!

A shop that I seem to always be buying Kimono's from is Select. They have so many lovely ones in store and online at the minute, I can't get enough of them! I already own a few but Im always looking for more. Heres a recent OOTN featured recently on my Instagram.

This kimono has beautiful black tasselling, and is a deep red/burgundy colour mixed in with a golden shade and more black. With the colours in this kimono being quite dark I only opted for a dark cami top to match and so I paired it with blue jeggins to bring out some of the redness rather than having a fully dark outfit. The nude shoes are a lovely shade to go with the golden tones.

I think what I love most about kimono's is that they just work for me; they are able to turn a casual outfit into something more edgy, and for someone as self conscious about the top half as mentioned above like me then they are just perfect because my shoulders are covered, and most of my arms are too. Even though the kimono's aren't full sleeve length, this one in particular has the lovely tasseling detail which draws attention from the arms anyway, and the pattern also helps to do this too.

I am currently lusting over another kimono in Select at the minute which is very similar to the one I already have featured above. Heres some photo's…

Black Boudoir Floral Kimono - Select - £16.00

I love the colours in this kimono once again, and the cute floral pattern. Like my kimono featured above for the OOTN, this one also has tasseling which brightens up any outfit straight away. I would style this one with a bright orange camp, black skinny jeans and some chunky black heels! I will definitely be buying this sometime soon!
